Why New York is a Great Place to Study Art

New York City is, without a doubt, America's center for art and culture. The city is home to dozens of world-renowned museums and galleries, as well as numerous performing arts organizations. Lincoln Center boasts the Metropolitan Opera, the New York City Ballet, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Dozens of venues on Broadway produce the world's top theatre performances thousands of times each year. During the annual Museum Mile Festival in June, 23 blocks shut down to traffic, and the museums in the area open their doors to the public for free, including the famed Guggenheim and Metropolitan Museum of Art.
