Media Communications and Broadcasting Schools in New York

New York Mediai and Broadcasting SchoolsAs New York typically has a lot to offer in most categories, broadcasting schools and broadcasting programs are no exception. Columbia University has one of the most famous journalism schools in the US. The City University of New York offers degrees in televison/radio, theatre, speech, performing arts, media, film, and communications. These are very limited examples of the broadcasting-related programs the city's schools have to offer students.

The strength of New York's media market is attested to statistically. Producers and directors in New York should see a 5.4% growth in their occupation through 2012, with a 150-job annual increase, and 7,750 total jobs by that time. Media and communcication workers should see an 8.8% rise in demand, with 1,170 job openings per year and a total market of 44,910 jobs. Audio and video equipment specialists will experience a 10.4% jump, with 100 job openings each year and 2,960 employed in the field.

About: Tisch School of the Arts offers students from other colleges and universities a variety of opportunities to study with Tisch. Study abroad with Tisch during the spring, summer, and fall semesters. Our partnerships with world-famous institutions and organizations offer students training not available in the United States. Programs in the performing, media, and visual arts are offered in Accra, Dublin, Florence, Johannesburg, London, Prague, Shanghai, and other exciting locations. Spring at Tisch offers undergraduate students from diverse academic backgrounds a concentrated semester in the arts paired with the opportunity to live in New York City; study acting, dramatic writing, filmmaking, photography and imaging, or the moving image in cinema studies. During the summer, Tisch offers a variety of performing and media arts courses as well as internships in New York City and an opportunity to study with professional dance companies through the Tisch Dance Summer Residency Festival. Students may take courses for college credit or earn a noncredit certificate in filmmaking or dramatic writing. Our summer international programs offer advanced-level training in various artistic disciplines. High school students may also study with Tisch in New York City, Dublin, or Paris during the summer.
